I currently have a ported sbr-g50 turbo i have not installed I called slowboy and they i could excahnge it for a sbr-g60 as long as i pay a restock fee. With my current setup would the extra 100 bucks be worth it, I'm trying to lay down about 450 awhp and break into the elevens.

Well according to SBR's website, the G50 that you have will make 400+ hp but can do 11's with proper tuning. If you really want to break that 450 hp mark, go with the G60. Even though they dont have a lot of info on it, I would imagine it can do the job. So I guess it depends whats more important to you, the hp numbers which then you will pay the $100 restocking fee or the 1/4 mile time which you can work out with the current turbo.

I'm more worried about the 1/4 time so you think the g50 with 1000s and dsmlink will get me there? I'm also orederin a SBR stage V head in a few weeks aswell.

Anyone else ahve some opinions i get payed thursday need to make a descision. :D

I would be careful when buying anything ported from SBR. Their porting on the turbo I baught was very poor. I've never seen any of their race heads so I have no idea how well they flow. I hope for your case they have each port flow matched to the other ports. As well as making sure the flow of the head matches the profile of the cams. I'm having my spare head done right now and they're matching the head to the entire rest of my setup. They will give me a flow chart with my head when I get it back that shows exactly how my head performed on the flowbench. Hopefully SBR makes that much effort for you. If not you may want to consider other options.

To just grab a cylinder head and start carving the hell out of it isn't exactly ideal for most people. Especially if your not going to a stroker 2.3 or 2.4. The key is getting the right mix of velocity for quick low end spool up, as well as matching the bowls, combustion chamber, and radius for lots of top end.

Make sure that SBR has the right head for your application before you invest that kind of money into them.

Although the G60 may sound like a better option (higher number means more hp right? :tease:) Keep in mind that the turbo will make more power, but is not pump gas nor low boost friendly. Let me see if I can dig up some maps for you.

On a side note, I see that you have a smaller repertoire of mods that I'd like to see before running such a turbo, how do you plan on tuning your 1000cc injectors? What type of boost are you looking to run with this turbo? Will you be running pumpgas/meth/or race gas?

Probably not too much of a sacrafice as far as spool. I would say a couple hundred rpms at best for max boost on the 60 in comparison to your 50.
