1G Should I replace this Transmission Select Lever and shaft

Should I replace this select lever and shaft for my Turbo 1990 F5M33 FWD 5 speed transmission? (190,000+ miles on it)
It was grinding 1st to 2nd hard when I would shift quickly before I tore it down. Thinking this front-to-back play in the shift linkage is the cause (shoe was bad also).
There is slop between the select shaft that bolts to the transmission (23235) and the select lever that pivots on that shaft (23172). That's the lever that holds the white plastic select shoe. The bushings (23995) are metal, not sure how hard they are to press in/out. The shaft may be worn. I am replacing the select shoe, and blue inside gear shifter bushings also. Not planning to replacing the shaft kit (23226) that the other cable attaches to, thinking upgraded cable bushing will help that (you can see my half-assed metal shim I used to fill the elongated cable bushing gap in the shaft pic below - roof flashing).

Im going to either do the JNZ Tuning Delrin cable bushings, or the Skateboard bearings. leaning toward the bearings. Already bought the Delrin though.
What do you guys think? Worth it, or will it not make much difference?

That was my first thought, but I had the trans rebuilt and the syncros replaced a few years back. Guy said it all looked fine, but since I was having trouble with 1st/2nd he replaced that syncro. He said they don't make the paper lined ones any more. He gave me back the old parts, I will post a pic later.

The Exeddy clutch in there has 15k on it. I think the problem is in the shifter assembly, bushings, cable ends, select shoe, select lever bushings. That or the time I put mobile 1 GL-5 gear lube in there. Big mistake. Had to get amsoil GL-4 as a replacement. everything was notchy and biting when that stuff was in there. Then the guy who rebuild my trans said to use 1 qt of ATF and the rest 30w motor oil. That was ok, but when I had the cheap GL-4 hypoid everything was very smooth. I just ordered 6 qts of MT-90 from STM so I can fill and run it to flush out the ATF and oil, then replace it with pure MT-90.
