Should I replace my whole remote door lock system? or...

Okay so when I bought my car the owner didnt give me the remotes.

So I was thinking just either get one remote and program it?

OR
Get a whole door lock system with 2 remotes and acuators and all the wireing for 30 bucks off ebay.


BTW, my passanger side door lock acuator or "motor" stopped working same with drivers side.

How hard would it be to hook up to the power lock button on my car?

Or should I just get 2 acuators and a remote?

I would try to contact the previous owner. If nothing else you should be able to find the address from the DMV. This would be by far the easiest fix. You may or may not be able to program new remotes (it will depend on your system). Are the remotes for an aftermarket or oem system?

This may sound silly but have you checked the fuses? Do you know when they stopped working? It's unlikely they both failed @ the same time. Have you tested for power and ground where the wires connect to the motors (using a Multi-meter)?

Are you referring to a factory RKE system or an aftermarket one?
