shot peened 1g rods pics?

which one of these rods are shot peened? i thought shot peen rods are like chrome (polished ) finished???? im thinking its the bottom one.

I'm guessing the bottom one because it's cleaner. When they shot peen something, they just shoot little metal beads at it to relieve stress in the metal.

Shot peening
entails impacting a surface with shot (round metallic particles) with force sufficient to create dimples and with enough shot that those dimples overlap. It is similar to sandblasting, except that it operates by the mechanism of plasticity (physics) rather than abrasion: each particle functions as a ball-peen hammer. In practice, this means that less material is removed by the process, and less dust created.
 
yup, Brute is right...well you guys are both right. Though I have seen shot peened pieces come out a lot shinier and with a (bit more) texture.
