Was thinking about dropping my shifter about an inch from the base of the upper shaft. I heard of people placing them at a different degree as well. Anyone have feedback on this?

I just got through modifying another one of my Megan short shifters. I shortened the shaft 2'-1/2", angled it forward 35 degrees and cut off one of the two shifter cable (attachment) pivot holes on the bottom, machined the bottom to accept another pivot hole. Installed a Mishimoto pistol grip knob.

How do you not hit your hand on the console in 1st, 3rd, & 5th?

It's in first gear in the picture, knuckles are still a couple inches away from the console. It actually works really nice, second, fourth and reverse don't go past the old neutral zone. Shifter never gets past the vertical position. If I had a cigarette lighter in the socket my little finger would hit it. Good thing I don't smoke. :D

wow amazing feedback! the megan shifter looks awesome. i wouldnt mind the angle going the opposite direction, as my own personal prefferance. im glad im not the only one who is thinking about hacking this thing LOL. besides, i have two extras!

With the stock shifter once you get past the neutral position (shifting into 2nd and 4th) you're essentially pulling back and down, to me it feels like a lose some leverage doing this. With it angled forward as much I did, it almost has the feel of a sequential shifter.
