Just recently threw a Megan short shifter same as the b&m but there discontinued in my 97 gst. Was kinda hesitant at first to order it because I heard some not so great things about it, but it surprised me. Great quality and fitment had no trouble at all putting it in everything fit perfect and got rid of a lot of the sloppiness from my stock shifter and for the 74 bucks I paid really can't beat it!!

There's a difference between the GS-T and GSX shifers?

Great, thanks for the response. How much shorter is it than factory?

Just wondering what brand most of you guys are going with as far as a short throw shifter, and if there are any to stay away from. Thanks a lot

I first got one off of ebay when I first got my talon, but the fitmet was terrible, and ended up getting a megan I heard good things about them and gave them a try and loved it ever since. :thumb:

ebay. Works pretty good. Could shim the side post to take some slop out but with the full bushing kit its very nice improvement over stock. That said, ive never used a megan so im sure its not THAT good, but its a marked difference. But if you can get a name brand for 75, do it, i would have for sure had i known of them at the time i purchased.
Goes to show, research research research.... then buy!!!

Height wise i'd say maybe an inch shorter than oem at best, but I didn't buy it to shorten the height, I bought it to shorten the throws and at the first reduction point it made an awesome difference.

has anyone found a way to modify the stock shifter? if i fab'd something to raise the pivot point up maybe an inch that wouldn't that essentially be the same thing?

Im in the process of doing that right now. Im trying a couple different methods and Im shortening the hight as well with mine since I have a counter weight shift knob.
