Short throw shifter

As anyone that has shopped ebay has learned, there is not a wealth of information on the products on the listings. I am looking for a short throw shifter, im not worried about the cosmetics of the shifter as I am the installation and craft. I've found two distinct types, hopefully someone has installed either type and can give feedback on what they thought.

Shifter A:

Honestly instead of Ebay I would try Amazon. Faster shipping usually and good pricing. The reviews are excellent for items on Amazon and give you real pro's and con's to shopping.

I just ordered Shifter A, only with the grey knob a few days ago. It shipped today so I expect it no later than the beginning of next week. I would be more than happy to give you my thoughts on it afterwards if you still haven't pulled the trigger.

In regards to Shifter B - I just bought my car two weeks ago and while pulling the interior to replace the heater core I was greeted by a shifter that looked damn near identical to this one. The black piece that bolts the shifter 'arm/lever' onto the factory shift assembly was bolted in place properly but taped to the shifter arm with electrical tape. I'm talking like a quarter inch thick wrapping of electrical tape. After cutting it off, the post that sticks through and is supposed to be where you bold that piece to the arm was broken off. It was a nice clean shear too, almost flush with the shifter arm.

Needless to say, I avoided anything that remotely resembled that design when I purchased my replacement.

Okay right on I think I have my answer then, probably going to wait a bit, maybe a week before I buy it. Good deal I was leaning toward the fidanza deal as well, glad I didn't pull the trigger.

you can make your own short shifter get the shifter out cut right under the threads and then cut a 1 and 1/4 inch lower and weld the org threads back on its how i did mine.

Bought and installed shifter A from that seller. Be prepared to fiddle with things to make them work right. Install is just like the B&M since it's a clone. Also, the seller is pretty good about getting things straightened out. There's a pivot pin that sheared off and the seller priority mailed me a whole new shifter assembly within a week.

I'm in the process of making a write up as we speak. Errm, type.

How does this method compare to say a megan racing kit or a B&M? Any difference at all?

That's a Short Shifter, not a Short THROW Shifter.

Cutting the Shifter gives you a Short Shifter, But not a Short THROW Shifter.

The Short Throw Shifter Gives you less Throw, you will move your shifter less and makes the Cable to move more, which the Short Shifter gives you less play only at the Shifter, but will still have the same throw from the Shifter bolt Attachment to the Cable.

I don't know if they still make them but, The custom made JNZ tuning short shifter is quite nice, I have one in my Galant.
