shipping turbo without hotside

I'm shipping a turbo without the hotside. How can I package it so the turbine wheel doesn't get damaged.

I just shipped one last week. Used a cut can around the fins. And packed styrofoam block everywhere for support. After that I packed in a billion peanuts. Just make sure its labled fragile and remain upright.

Just make sure that when you pack it in the box the turbo isn't moving at all, remember to brace/pad the side & anywhere the box could impact if its dropped.

I shipped a holset last month. Just used a few layers of bubble wrap, and extra padding in the box.

Cardboard, three layers of bubble wrap, and lots of shock-absorbing packing material. You want to be able to drop the box from about chest-height and have it bounce instead of land like a lead balloon.

If you're using UPS or FedEx, these steps should do just fine. If you're using USPS, it'll probably still get damaged.

TD05 turbine wheels fit nicely inside a roll of duct tape. The heatshield slides in snug. Then, just wrap some tape around to hold the two together.
