Turbo hotside

Ok so im wondering if i can use this hotside in place of my pte because i cant run the pte for external wastegate. The one where the wheel fits snug is the pte.

Not a turbo expert but with that wheel so undersized in that housing... that turbo will build little to no boost.

Can you use it, yes. Is it gonna do what you want it to do, no. The hotsides are machines to tight tolerances to use as much exhaust pressure the can to spin the turbine wheel. With that big of a gap, the turbo will not be what you want it to be.

^^^ agreed, won't be efficient and will dramatically increase lag. I've done it before back in the day due to needing to get my car up and running for smog. Threw the parts together and viola a 14b that hit 18psi at like 4500rpms... pathetic!
Dont do it, you will be disappointed!

Thanks guys i wont be using it . By any chance anyone know what other hotside i can use? Turbo is a pte 50 trim 5031re

Why can't you run external? Are you trying to run it off the manifold? Looks like it's already setup for an o2 external

I cant run external off the o2 housing because theres a gap between the wastegate port and exhaust port, If that makes sense and the boost falls right into the exhaust. I'll post a better pic of it.

Heres another pic of the pte o2 housing. As you can see theres nothing dividing the boost side and exhaust side. So when boost tries to go to the external wastegate it goes into the exhaust and i build 0 boost.

Just weld the hole shut and use a gate off manifold

Ahh, I see now and that makes sense. I would do what archer said and weld the hole shut. It would be cheaper than buying a new hotside unless you come across a good deal

Definitely can't use an old Bullseye turbine housing cut for a 74mm/64mm P-trim wheel over your 65mm/56mm TA34 turbine.
