where to start. i bought my 95 gsx after being an rx7 owner all my life (well many rx7's but im sure you guys know the deal) the problem is that when i bought my car it has an after market clutch and aftermarket flywheel and it just doesnt shift right, its way to hard to get it into gears and it grinds alot even when you have the clutch to the floor. then the other day 3rd and 4th gears just stopped working i only have 1st 2nd and 5th. now one of my buddies said that about the gears it could just be the intercooler piping on from my greddy is just getting in the way but im not sure. heres what i need, any answers if anyone has had any of these problems before and if not a really good dsm tranny shop that will rebuild my tranny without breaking my wallet too much thats on long island. thanx guys and please pm me the messages or email me.

The synchros in these trannys are notorious for causing problems...How old is the transmission? Another thing, there is no cheap solution for your trans at this point. When my 4th went out, I went to get a rebuild and I about $hit my pants (145,000 mile original trans). If you have no real big plans for the car, a good used one out of the classifieds wouldn't bite you in the wallet too bad. No clue how intercooler piping would effect the transmission, no clearance issues whatsoever ..Hope that helps...big_d

He means the shift levers on the transmission. Check them they're right on top of the transmission and there is shift cables running to them. They should be able to move freely without any restrictions.

IMO I'd guess your 3rd+4th gear synchro went bye bye.:toobad:
