Alright,

I recenetly got the OBX short shifter for my car. I ever since then, the battery has been dieing if I don't start it every 12 hours. I had the alternator checked, they said it was toast, so I changed it on my own. But it still dies. So I'm thinking those wires that wrap around the shifter need some type of steel to ground them. Since the new shifter is aluminum, I'm thinking they aren't grounded, and are causing the drain. Any ideas? Anyone else had this type of problem before?

Thanks,
Tamer

Yeah,

There are some wires hooked up to it, I have no idea why. I think it's from the security system the first owner had. All they did was disconnect it, it's still wired in the car, so I think it's causing a drain. BTW B&M doesn't make a shifter for the 1G ;)

Anyways, I'm taking the car to the dealer to see if they can unwire this crap, and figure out what's wrong...

Thanks,
Tamer

didnt see the 1G sorry :p

Why not just disconnect the wires from the shifter and wrap the ends in tape?
Honestly not something I would drag to the dealer over bro.

I wouldn't like to either, but it's really my only option, it gets annoying to have to jump the car anytime it sits for over 6 hours, and it gets annoying to have to disconnect the terminals every time I go somewhere. Plus the battery, alternator and starter are all new. So I have no idea what else it could be....I don't think it's the wires to the shifter either, I think it's the whole security system...
