i have the weighted 2g leather shift knob. when its screwed down all the way its facing the passenger side window instead of the HVAC. is there anyway to fix this? it won't go on any tighter so i can't fix it that way, and if i loosen it so it's straight then it swivels in my hand.

this might have been asked before but i did a search and all the posts came back about short throw shifters.

sorry brotha i think ## SOL.. because mine does the same but i can loosen it enough to be staright but still tight enough that its not moving.. try to tighten that motha lova more!

I had this problem once before. What I did, was get small washers to fit in the shift knob. I placed one at a time on top of the threaded part of the shift lever, then screwed down the knob. Kept doing it till the knob what straight. Worked like a charm!

This will work, or put teflon tape on the threads a little thick. That will make it tighter a little faster.

that's an awesome suggestion!

thanks.

I don't know if using loc-tite would help at all or not but it might be something to use in addition to the washers so it doesn't loosen up.

You could force it another 3/4 turn, or if it is not too loose you could just back it up 1/4 turn and leave it. My weighted shift knob gets tight about 3-4 turns before it is actually screwed all the way down.
