Shifter help!

Ive been going through the forums and im a little confused about ways to improve the quality of my shifts. Ive heard shifter bushings, underhood bushings, shifter plate bushings, etc. Will someone please explain to me where each of these is and which one will help my shifting be smoother,crisp, and less missed gears(specifically second )
Any pictures would be appreciated as well.

the symbroski shift kit is a great addition to help the 2-3 shift and Reverse issues with our cars be eliminating the flex of the shifter base when pushing the shifter to the side to engage one of those gears. The underhood shift bushings can be yeah or nay, if the stockers are dried up or damged I say go for it. I've done mine, it elimiates any play that the old rubber piece would absorb, so make sure your clutch is in before moving the shifter.

The B&M short throw shifter is also nice, it reduces the amount of throw on the shifter lever. Less movement between gears. You can have all 3 items above for @$210. The one that would probally bennifit you the most is the symbroski shift kit, it can be purchased at a few shops, MachV usually has them in stock.

So the symborski kit thing is for the shifter plate? What about the underhood ones? Ive also heard something about using washers instead for something and using skate bearings for the other...to save money. What are these referring too?

Washers are an alternative to the symborski kit. I used washers. Total cost came out to be 2 bucks at Home Depot.

Skate bearings are used under the hood. I just did this mod. My shifts are stiffer, but you can feel more of what's going on. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226775

The washers your talking about do the same things as the symbroski shift kit, there just a cheaper way to do it. There is a write up in the tech articles that tells you how to do it.

And the Skate board bearings are to replace the stock rubber bushings on the end of the shifter cables that connect to you tranny theres also a write up for those too.
