I am about to get my hands on a used B&M Short Throw Shifter with a weighted OEM knob and i thought i would just replace the bushings that are involved with my shifting. I have noticed alittle more slop in my shifter so i thought my bushings all need to be replaced. My car is a manual 98 gsx eclipse BTW.

My questions are:

What car the different kinds of bushings that are involved with my shifter. I Know there are the base bushings and the cable bushings but are there any others?

Also i am curious on if the brass/copper ones are good or if i should go with the plastic ones.

Links would be very helpful for me for the different kits i would most likely need.

Thanks in advance for the help and advice!

Replace the shifter cable end bushings with either brass or aluminium. Also there are bushings on the actuall shifter rod assembly that need to be looked at. And ofcourse the symbroski kit for the shifter base.

If you can remove the shifter cables, Mach V makes a nice set of Frictionless bearings that you can use too.
