I know i might get flamed for this but, where can i find an immitation leather shift boot, i know redline has real leather, but i don't want to have to keep spraying and keeping up with the leather for it to last. thats why i like the fake stuff... thanks in advance. oh and all the "universal" ones i bought in stores never fit...

I'll put it this way - the site for the Redline boots says to treat them once a week; I waited four months to treat mine, and they looked great all the meanwhile, and I'll prolly wait another four months before I do it again

I got a question for dat ass....my oem shift knob, the stitching is coming apart...what should i do before i get another knob? can i restitch it? or just rip it off?

just get the one from Machv.com its only 24 dollars for a heavy OEM shift knob.

flip it inside out, and restitch.

i redid mine with black leather and red stitching. but i also made a brushed aluminum (round) trim ring. so now my shifter boot is round, and not the stock odd-sized square.

i'll post pics if someone wants. turned out GREAT imo

2 questions- im planning on makin my gs show car over the winter
1. what side skirts are those and what where they made for
2. those speaker panels in the door, where did u come across those or did u make them

Hokie: i cut a piece of 1/2" MDF to fit inside the existing squarish opening, and flush fit it in there nicely. then cut a 4" hole, and kept making it larger until i could shift into all 5 gears (+ R) without bumping the wood anywhere. I had a 1/8" aluminum trim ring made to the same diameter, expect 1/2" thick. drilled in the holes for the mounting bolts and used T-Bolts in the MDF to hold it down. wrapped a new custom shift boot in there, and sandwiched it down with the aluminum trim ring. fits tight as a nuns tw@t, and looks darn good too i think!

2. almost all the little extras in my car i've made myself. not nearly as crazy as some of the peoples interiors on here, but i prefer a somewhat cleaner look than most, but yet very recognizable as custom (to the right people). i like it to look almost stock to 90% of the people who see it... but to DSMers, they usually notice the custom work without it being 'over the top' so to speak.

yea i just got the OEM knob from mach v, I did not know it was going to be taller than the stock on i had...I guess i'm gonna try and send it back...is there anywhere that i can get the stock shift knob that came with my car? Probably from mitsu, but for how much?

i suppose i should post the more updated pics then with the new racing seats in. that really ties the red/black interior together. also the floormats have been cleaned since those pics... i didn't realize how ugly those dirty mats look. so look for some updated pics within the next few weeks when i get unlazy.

*** if i can find the pics from when i did the shift boot mod, i'll definetely do a write-up on that too for those that are interested***
