Well its not really mine, but im building it for a DSMer in my area that is a friend and he really doenst know alot about cars in general, so i figured we could use this as a learning tool for him, so when something breaks, he knows whats going on somewhat

Basically our goal is low 13s high 12s. our ultimate goal is a 12.87 (beats the fastest import in the area) I think we *should* be able to do it after dyno tuning and on 110 gas.

Anyways, this is the mod list-97 tsi awd

Currently has
RSR catback
Some kind of massive downpipe, at least 3 inch, no less
Intake
Boost guage
new auto tranny

Parts that are here awaiting installation
Dejon Tool Med-Hi boost controller
Greddy EGT guage

Parts that should be here the 8th from slowboy
Slowboy external dump o2 housing
Completele MAFT blowthrough setup and Upper intercooler piping
all gaskets

Backorder
SBR manifold with egt bung

Still to order by the end of next month
Evo3 16g turbo and install kit (im not chancing it on someone elses car)
LICP for 16g to sidemount
550s
190 walboro
Wideband
logger

by christmas (before i go to japan) greddy 24 row fmic and possibly cams

Anyways, hopefully all the stuff that is comming in on the 8th wil be installed on wednesday next week on my first day off in a while (AF we are supporting the katrina deal with helos and c130s to refuel them) so i dont have weekends off. But i hope we can hit our goal, its an AWD auto, so he should be able to brake boost and get a decent launch, im also going to get him a valve body from IPT for christmas with the money he gives me from working on his car, cuase im a nice guy. Anyways, i plan on writing a large nuber of tech articles from this, so everyone should benefit, ill keep everyone updated however on how it goes, and improvments on the track in between mods. Hes at a 14.0 right now i believe (dont quote me havent asked in a while)

Shouldn't be a problem, I ran 13.9 on stock t25 with just an intercooler and exhaust and afc, and I am auto also.

yeah i figure 12.9 should be easy on high boost for a run or two. He just wants to hit the record number down here once so he can be the fastest (and hes 16)

Wish I could be the fastest around here with that kind of numbers! LOL, there is an integra around here that runs low 11's at 13x, and he just went to get more power, but I think he needs to worry more about traction, you can hear his tires spinning with slicks across the finish line....he's on my hitlist now though with the new setup, just not from a roll!

yeah, up here its mostly mustangs and sutff that are blown that are the competition, there arent really nay good imports around. But hell, a 12 second car DD is something ot be proud of in highs chool

yep, but hte FMIC is the least of hte worries, so thats hwy its last. Wanted to make sure he had all the supporting and valuable mods first, Ill make a CO2 system for the SMIC to compensate slightly

Japan, thats hot. Are you gonna be in kadena? I lived overthere for a year and a half working on C-130's. Rebuilt engines and most parts are really in expensive overthere. Who knows, you may get lucky and score a good rebuilt engine for $500.00 + 16g turbo and yellow injectors(510cc). Good luck with the project! :thumb:

ye
kadena
and im 130 engines, wil be backshop over htere

i want an rb26 when i get over there for a 240 when i get home.
but good deal man!

I suggest a restalled torque converter... Let us know if he gets the thrown of the fastest import in his area... Man over here the fastest street car is a 5.0 in the 8s! Well the fastest import at the moment is a Civic hatch with a gsr motor and a bunch of n2o running 11.4... What kinda car is the fastest over there?

Turbo EG coupe with a GSR

names derek

well i want him to ge hte endclutch kit nad 4000 stall converter, but hes on a budget and they dont fit in right now, he is spending a rather large amount of money and basically emptying his account LOL, but its his car and he likes it, so im down for helping. I miss my DSM anyways

update:
Dejon Tool med-hi boost controller installed, 14-21 psi, tried to go higher, but started knocking, bad stuff. I know its a t-25, but its a fresh one, and im gonna boost the hell outta it for him. Hes getting a ev03 16g anyways next month.

Later today, dejon tool piping, and maft and 3" gm mafs will be in

well a t25 past 16 psi is just blowing hot air. way past its efficiency. but its your decision. not something I'd recommend or do. :notgood:

funny how he can brake boost at 14 and not break tires, but at 20 he can chirp them. But im sure it has nothign to do with the increase in boost.

Im just building the car

       are you trying to chirp tires or build a 12 sec car??? of course he isn't going to chirp tires as easily as anyother car...maybe the AWD has something to do with traction of the tires??? :coy: good luck with this project. I sure wish i had someone to help me build my car with your expertise. :barf:

: rolls eyes: same car, two boost levels, at 14 strong launch, at 20 stronger and chirp. thats all im tryign to get accross. The t-25 is terribly inefficient after 5000 or so rpms, until then it holds strong ( or maybe this turbos a fluke) But you can definately notice a difference in teh boost levels, mind you at 20 the boost tapers off a lil bit before the 14 lb run, but like i said, this is temp, ev03 16g will be here soon

I would turn that boost back down and only do that at the track with race gas and stuff. I had mine up like that with the new actuator and it blew within 3 days of running 20 psi.

Since you're planning to use race gas to achieve your goal you probably don't NEED them but I recommend 650 cc injectors just to be on the safe side. And since it's a daily driver, more fuel will be needed when running pump gas.

I used to own a 95 TSi AWD automatic until last fall when it was stolen. I now have a 97 TSi AWD M/T, mainly because I wanted to see how the other half lived and was ready for a change. On my '95 I had it equipped with an EVO III 16g, Dejon race FMIC, 680cc injectors, DSM Link, 2.5" Downpipe, 3" catback. On the trans side of things I had the TransLab shift kit with black spring, Alto end clutch, and a large B&M cooler. Best I could muster was a 13.9 @ 103 on 110 octane race gas. Not saying I'm the greatest tuner in the world, but I know a big part of my problem was the launch, I think best 60" was around 2.4s. You will definitely want a minimum 4k stall converter to combat this. For what it's worth I was running 25-26 psi and logging 35 lbs/min on DSM Linik. Any other sources of info I can help with, let me know.

Definitely was in the launch and needed a stall then. My car was still on the t25 with no tranny work done just exhaust, bov, boost controller, and afc and I pulled a 13.9 but only at 97.

wel update to now on the mods currently done

3 inch downpipe back
hybrid connection o2 housing
PLX wideband and guage
greddy egt
boost guage
Dejon tool dual stage MBC
SBR cast manifold
PTE 50trim
intake on the turbo inlet
GM 3" MAF
MAFT
Greddy 24 row Front mount (have to finish mounting tomorrow)
PTE 550 injectors

soon translab shift kit

i think thats it
its almost all the way done, gotta finish up the front mount
Trim the fan blades on the AC side so it wont hit the wastegate until he can get a slim fan, and it will be good to go

hoping for 15-18 lbs on 110 or c16 gas with at least a 12.9
