hey guys, just took a holiday trip to ohio, about 900 miles...about 3/4 way into georgia the car started shaking like a tire had seperated. pulled over and the tires are perfect. took it back on the highway and still doin it. but not constant, it does it then it doesnt. it starts at 55 and stops around 75...though it has come and gone over that speed also.

when u disengage the clutch it stops. i just rebuilt the clutch master before we left. no other problems other than that. this thing will shake u to death.

98 GS, 5 sp....the whole car shakes, not just the steering wheel, the wife popped her head out thw window to check the tires and nothing odd there.

please help, thanks

Dude make sure that the transmission is bolted on tight!!! The same thing happened to me and I found out that little 10mm bolt at the back of the tranny had fell out. This led to the transmission shifting and eventually destroying the clutch plate. So make sure you check the tranny and the BJ's!!!

+2 my car came with a blown clutch and didnt come with the 10mm bolt so thats how that happened.

- good choice because its not worth paying to get them balanced when they are bald. new tires should take care of it. it will handle like a dream for like 7k then its ehh. its just how it goes

It sounds like bad ball joints or a bad wheel bearing for the problem to show up at different speeds. when my wheel bearings went bad it shook at around 55

Jack Up the car and try and pull the tires back and forth if theres play chances are its your wheel bearings..trust me ive had a DSM from hell everything that could break did break LOL...also this may seem stupid but make sure your wheels arent loose
