Ok so i searched the threads and nothing. i have no coolent... so i put in a new radiator Tuesday, and i thought it fixed my problem, haha NO. so today i put in a new thermostat and i thought that fixed my problem, haha NO. So here is the problem sometimes my car will run 2 or 3 days with no issues, other times it will only take 30 or 45 mins, and i have no coolent and im in the red. i have no leaks and dont think i have any pressure issues.(i will be getting a new cap tomorrow). so here is my question. WHERE IS MY COOLENT GOING? WHERE COULD IT GO THERE ARE NO LEAKS? I just cant figure it out, i fixed the easy stuff and did a compression test an all cylinders and there fine all about 180. so pleas help me before it blows up, haha thanks

get cardboard and lay it under the car to find leaks. if that doesnt work... check passenger side carpet see if its wet. you may have to lift the carpet up to see.

that will at least let you (and us) know where to look and give better recommendations.

i once had a lower radiator line go bad. it would sit there after being poured in... start the car and it worked perfect... turn the engine off... it all pors out because it built up pressure and turning the car off it lost that pressure from where the leak in the hose was. BTW the hose did not have a leak... it leaked from where the hose connected to the engine. it just got old and stretched or something and even though the clamp was on it, it still did nothing to hold back the flood.

That's a good idea ill see if i can find some cardboard tomorrow. Also that is what it was dong before i changed the parts i would all piss out right after i turned the car off but it was from right below the radiator.

Could be something as simple as radiator cap that isn't sealing. I had similar symptoms and that ended up being my solution.

after a cross country trip from alberta to quebec i had no time to have patience and do something myself... so i took it into a shop to see what was wrong with my cooling system. they said they saw a small leak in the bottom of my radiator that isnt bad now but will need to be replaced....

long story short i get the car back to alberta and it runs fine for a few months then starts acting up. i take a look at it... pressure test the radiator with water from a hose (just to see where it leaks from... pretty much giving it a leak down test. the radiator held with no problem. so i put it back in and tested it again. i watched as the coolant leaked out of the lower radiator hose where connected to the block. it got right past the clamp and some of it beaded down the hose to the lower radiator outlet (giving the shop the thought it was the radiator) when in fact it was just the hose. $30 dollars at your auto parts store and be done with it. You should have a b*^$@ of a time getting it on the block portion because that thing is tight. but once thats on and clamped down put the radiator back in and fill him up. (i did mine from the outside of the car, not under. just have to remove the radiator and upper and lower hoses and thats all.)

ok so i just have a really bad fealing that its the water pump. i watched today and the car is leaking from somewhere below the timing cover down off the side of my oil pan, gotta be the water pump right?

water pump seal. Put your hand on the inside of the pully if you can you shoudl feel the grime and coolant build up. once it gets real bad at an idle rev you might be able to see it shoot out from behind the pully. This is nothing i've experience on the dsm yet but, on plenty of other car i have.
