Took the turbo out because wheel needs to be replaced and discovered that my compressor housing has no numbers to identify what 16g it is, atleast I was told it was a 16g. It has the 49178-01 but no numbers inbeteeen that and 0 and none next to S.

Maybe it was new old stock or something as to why it might not be marked? I think the casting looks like an MHI or a really good knock off. The ones I have seen usually have the SN stamped in and some numbers stamped in where 01 XX 0 would be. Do the fins on the compressor side have 2 close and then spaced and 2 close? the 16g ones I have seen look like that.

Thank you for all the help this community is seriously so great. To answer your question the fins are 2 close and then spaced and 2 close. I tried the dirt method and nothing came up so I just measured the wheel and the sizes matched up 1:1 with the measurments of an E316g so thats the wheel I ordered. I'll investigate more to see if I can discover anything else but as far as I can tell the turbo seems genuine.
