right not I'm working on dying the rainbow fabric to a darker red, and it's taking a shit load of coats, i'm up to 6 now on one piece and it still needs a few more OMG . I think it's cause the red doesn't go on as heavily as the black but it's looking pretty damn good right now. I'll post pics tomorrow!

Ok guys I done the middle part of my seats with yellow, and when I brush it, it seems to all come out I mean I think the problem is the yellow isn't dark enough to cover up the gray. But I'm gunna paint the out sides of them red and more than likely after 1 more coat of yellow if it dont cover up the gray I'm gunna do it black.

Will post pics as soon as it's done

Well, I am all done with the back seats. A few touch ups will be needed.

It was originally burgundy, and it took about 3 cans for the back seat alone. LOL

I have also put down one can on the passenger floorboard. and it will need touchups as well. I am currently waiting on walmart to restock the paint. Paying $6 a can at autozone seems silly.

An update, I tried 2 more coats of yellow and it still wasn't covering up the gray so I went with black and it seems to be doin alright, So to my next question, Trite did you paint your seats in the car? or did ya just put them back in after you painted them then took a picture? and another question floor boards how do ya keep from getting paint all over everything else?

The back seats are really easy to take out, so I removed them and then put them back in after I was done.

I masked off all around the floorboard with a wide masking tape. If you accidently get some on the plastic, just wipe it off quickly.

Yea I already have pass side front seat out and started doin middle of it yellow but that looked like crap so in the process of covering up the yellow with black. I am gunna try to get the rest of it done tomorrow but it takes time maksing off all the little bends in the seat seperating the middle from the back. While I have the seats out I am doing all my interior plastics black. Never really thought about doing the crapet but I may do it black or get some gray paint for it. Any one have any idea where I can get the little plastic pieces for the interior at b/c I tend to break alot of them when taking it out.

my conclusion with this dye is that black works GREAT, I just finished the rainbow fabric on my front seats.

Other colors however (such as the red that i used also) doesn't work as well. If you use the red on solid color fabric with no patters it works pretty well. If you try and dye the rainbow fabric it will NOT work, I learned this the hard way :( \

Now that my car is done it looks pretty good IMO, black and grey seats up front, red and grey seats in the back. I thought it would clash way too much and I would have to paint the back ones black, but it doens't look bad at all

I havent had any trouble with it coming out, I have even spilled things on them and it has held fast. It will fade a bit due to Sunlight/use Just respray.

Thanks bud, that's good to hear :runningoutthedoorforpaint:

I went to Wal mart the other day and they had dupli-color fabric and vinyl spray. Is that the same as the dye or is there an actual one that says dye on it?
