Sealing up the fuel pump assy

My fuel pump assembly is leaking at the top where it bolts into the tank. What can I use to seal it up?

for a temporary solution you could put some silicon sealant on there. Heres the thing I just dont know how gas will react with the silicon sealant. Might be fine might not, i am no chemical engeneer you know? now for a permanant soulution can you get a pic of exactly where its leaking? It might be easier to come up with a better soulution then.

The gas has evaporated, but it was leaking out from where the assembly bolts down into the tank.

How many of the studs did you break changing the pump?
I know people have drilled out the studs and replaced them with the tank in the car. Magnets help keep the shavings out of the tank.

I only broke one stud. Would that cause sealing problems?

I wouldn't think one would make that big a difference if you had a good gasket. If it's hard and dried out it might leak. None of the RTV's are recommended for use on parts in contact with fuel.
