Ok I noticed for this past week my driver side front wheel has been making this scratching scrape type noise. I was thinking it may be the brake pad scraping somehow but it doesnt make this scrapping noise all the time and and doesnt make the noise every time I brake. It kinda seems to do it the most during the first 10 or so minutes of driving. Does anyone know if this has to do with bad brakes or what?

i have the same problem on my fp side but it only does it at cruseing speeds above 45. part of it was the shield around the rotor was bent but after fixing that still continues to happen.

Safely!!! Lift that corner with a jack. Rotate tire, feel like caliper is hanging up? Push on ttop of tire, kinda wiggling it, does whole hub seem to shake? Thatll be a wheel bearing if it moves more then a lil bit. Could be this or your caliper not allowing pad to "float" on rotor. Does the steering wheel shake at highway sppeds?

Ok when you can jack the car up and rotate wheel. Its either the pad sitting on rotor or dust shield if not the wheel bearing. Any movement when pushing inward on top of tire? While tire is off ground is easiest.

Wheel bearing wouldn't sound like it is scrapping, could be a poor description though. how bad is it loose splash guard could sound like a scrape

Agreed, wheel bearing should be more of a squealing noise. How much break pad ya have left? And caliper dragging would do this too. When breaks get hot they don't work as well and that noise may get get softer at that point. After a drive and minimal breaking is the caliper hot, warm, cold? And how does it compare to the side not making noise?
