drivin to work today like your average joe...and im in 4th gear gettin on the highway and some numb nuts almost cuts me off...so i hammer 4th gear to avoid getting hit because i couldnt move cause of construction to my right side. After about 2 second in 4th BINGBINGINBBBING my car is bouncin off the red line at 8500 rpms...and the clutch is grindin...so i let off the gas and the rpms are still up there....??? so i fight with my car and finally get it in second gear and than back into 4th and it returns to normal. I just installed a 14b on a clutch with a 100k miles so i knew it wouldnt last very long at all but...when the clutch slips why would it redline if i take my foot off the gas?? i mean it was stuck on the redline for a good 8 seconds i wasnt gaining speed it was just smackin the limiter over and over....was extremely scary i thought i was gonna blow my motor if i couldnt get it off..i was tempted to put it into neutral and shut the damn car off and roll onto the shoulder. Anyhow can anyone explain to me why the gas was stuck when the clutch slipped??? is that what always happens? I need a new clutch badly just finances are killing me so i geuss ill have to baby it for as long as possible because my fiance doesnt understand a thing about cars...i told her i need a new clutch and she thinks i just want one so i can go faster...which is partly true...but actually i need one so i dont blow my car up!
