Should tell everyone in this thread to read this epic 4G63 pownage done by me!

(don't talk about it in here, we don't want this thread shut down either)

How Do I Know If I Hve An ESI Or TSI? - Page 2 - DSM Forums

Crap, I didn't have a chance to throw in my 2 cents LOL. Yes, the 420A has potential, but don't forget there have been stock turbo models in the 12s. All really depends on the driver and conditions. And as for the modding, with a good tune anything is possible LOL. I've seen 500HP cars run nothing but mid 13s, a lot of factors play into quarter mile times. If you put the same amount of money into both engines (not parts, but money, 2 completely different things when it comes to building a car) the amount of power made by the 420A will not be as much as the 4G63. Turbo models come with a platform that can already handle 500+ HP on the stock internals, the 420A on the other hand can't. Don't get me wrong, there are some turbo 420A eclipses in my area that are very fast, but comparing both engines is like trying to compare a Camaro to a Ferrari.

Anyway, those are my 2 cents ROFL.

knows i know he is right. But at the same time the 420 version always gets crapped on. There's no doubt in anyones mind that the 4G is built better. But they all refuse to believe that the 420 holds any potential. Just because i save 3 grand on my car for getting a non turbo... it really does even out (price wise) after i do go turbo. Sure the AWD hold no competition compared to the fwd 4G but they don't get half the crap the 420 does.

^Should know 420 can and have been built to handle boost..And talking in long paragraphs about the diff. between the 4G and 420a is a losing battle...:thumb::D:cool:

Knows i know that the stock internals and everything can run just fine and dandy on 9psi of boost, and yes, safely at that.
Also knows i know it's a losing battle, but being the same car built on two different platforms is as stupid as saying the Eclipse is better than the Talon and that Talon sucks and has an ugly smiley face grill and is slow and that's why Eagle stopped making them in 1998. We all in this thread know this isn't true. But it's the mentality of some people. That's all i am saying.

Should know I would say your comparing apples to apples(Mitsu to Eagle) when you should be camparing apples to oranges(420 eclipse to 420a neon)..:D:applause::cool:

Should know comparing the 420a dsm to the 420a neon is like comparing the 4G63A to the 4G63T. the 420A still get's treated worse than the 4G37. Which is one thing i've always wondered about...

i know that most people on here don't consider the 420A to be a dsm even tho the the definition of DSM is Diamond Star Motor

From wikipedia
Diamond-Star Motors (commonly abbreviated to DSM) was an automobile-manufacturing joint venture between the Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC).[1] The name came from the parent companies' respective logos: three diamonds (Mitsubishi) and a pentastar (Chrysler).[2]

Only three of the vehicles produced by Diamond-Star Motors, the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and Plymouth Laser, are also commonly referred to as "DSMs"

Initially, three models were produced at this facility. The Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser and Eagle Talon were smaller 2+2 sports cars on a new co-designed platform. Models subsequently produced during the next decade included the Mitsubishi Mirage/Eagle Summit, the Mitsubishi Galant, the Dodge Avenger/Chrysler Sebring, and the Dodge Stratus/Chrysler Cirrus.

My guess is that People only classify the Eclipse,Talon, Laser as a DSM even tho the Galant VR4 also has the 4G63 and the 46G4 DSM engine because they were the first three automobiles off the Diamond Star line. Even tho the 4G63 has been used in all of these cars, but have yet be be classified as a DSM

Most people on this site act like if it's not 4G63/4 it's not DSM.
So this is just some food for thought.

^Should know there is others with 420a builds...Got to 2gNT...

^^Should know if ya really get down to it most 2g's are not DSM but Mitsu Motors(badged was changed from DSM to Mitsu Motors between 94/95)..They even changed the street to Mitsu Motor...

If that was towards me, I know they can and have been built for boost. ANY car can be with the right amount of time and money. There's D15 hondas that are running 20 pounds of boost because they were built to LOL.

I was comparing them power and platform wise, the 4G63 will always have an advantage since it was built to handle a lot of power right off the bat. Later on when you really get to building them, forged internals, ect. they may be very close. But if you give $5000 to each owners, the 4G63 owner can make more power out of the build than the 420A owner since he doesn't have to worry about changing the internals of the motor as quickly as he would have to with the 420A.

Should know after 400hp the 420a head starts to come off the block..Which is not so good..:ohdamn::D:cool:

I'll say that the 4g is superior to the 420a but the 4G has had the backing by Mitsu becuase it was the flagship motor of the brand..

^Should know its not what ya post but how ya post it ...ROFLLOL:D:cool:

Should know I don't need distracting smilies to get my points across ;)

Knows he loves everyone from Jersey and has a secret man crush on me.
