markham,
I'm planning the buy a SARD AFPR (STANDARD TYPE) to control the fuel that my walbro 255hp will be putting out
this is the one i'm interested in :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...RK:MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=160092321024&rd=1,1

according to this site: http://www.upgrademotoring.com/performance/sard_reg.htm
the STANDARD TYPE/sport type supports 450hp
and the TYPE R/RJ supports 500+ hp

this is another site that compares the adjustability of a few well known AFPR:
http://www.amzperformance.com/evo/?...f6&PHPSESSID=cdac0bcac0109cd4c724d92040e12690
its even better than the aeromotive

so how does the SARD type R support 500+hp and the SARD STANDARD type only support 450hp? they both have the same specs for flow (quoted: "SARD fuel pressure regulates 2.0 - 8.0 kg/cm2 (bar) 200 - 800KPa. One of the highest outputs on the market!")

i was told that the walbro 255 supports 600 hp and combining it with the SARD standard type, shouldn't it still support my 500hp goals?

should i buy the type R or will the STANDARD be ok for my 500hp goals ?

found this :"There's only two types, the racing and the normal. The racing will hold pressure to something insane like 15BAR iirc and will flow enough fuel to empty Iraq, the standard will go to 8BAR and flow enough for 400bhp. "

now, since our regulators control how much fuel goes back to the tank after the rail, and not how much fuel goes TO the rail,
does the flow rating effect us?

it makes sense that the standard type will be good for our cars right?

i've been searching different forums and google for information
but sard regulators are not as popular as aeromotive and i'm not getting a lot of info anywhere
any help would be appreciated
thanks

i will be using this on a 95 eclipse gst
i just don't understand why its only capable of 450 hp
because my system controls fuel pressure at the end of the rail by controlling how much fuel goes back to the tank
at higher hp range, less fuel get sent back to the tank because most of it will go out the injectors anyways
so why is there a 450hp "cap" for this regulator?

or do you think it is a marketing gimmick from sard so they can charge more for their bigger regulator?

thinking about this makes my head hurt:mad:

here's another thread where a s15 made over 700hp using the sard regulator
but it doesn't state which model and i can't see it in the pictures:
http://72.14.205.104/search?q=cache...=175+sard+regulator&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=60&gl=ca

here's a skyline that has over 500hp and it looks like he is using the standard one
not 100% sure from looking at his pictures but me and my gf both think it looks like the standard one:

here's a picture for reference of the 2:

anybody know anything about this???

seems like a way cheaper and really reliable AFPR compared to the aeromotive
and has better range of adjustability too

Just FYI since we have already spoken off thread through PM...

This is the Aeromotive Reg supporting 1000hp. See the size of the return hole? It -8 in and -6 out and that hole is about an 1/8th of an inch or so.
