Sanity check...boost leak compressor housing o-ring

Just curious if I win the "odd gasket to go" lottery. Did a boost leak test and after fixing the cheap ebay egr blockoff plate found the last leak coming from the snap ring around the compressor housing...got a new one coming from machv, just curious if anyone else has had one of these go on their 14b...I know the cartridge is in there correctly due to the locator pin, and the snap ring seeded all the way, the only thing I did differently is clock the "ends" a little counterclock wise so they were more easily accessible...originally they ended right under the coolant banjo..

This is a very common problem on the Garrett/T'netics turbos. Just run a bead of RTV silicon around the inside lip of the compressor cover, and that should fix the problem.

im assuming you mean on the edge overtop of the snap ring or do you mean on the lip of the cartridge around the o-ring gasket? the funny part is its only leaking between the space between the two ends of the snap ring, I guess i could jerry rig it and just rtv that area really well with red rtv...

Ehh... I forgot the Mitsu's have the O-ring there. If pressure is leaking out from around the snap ring, then it means the o-ring is not doing it's job. You should be able to fix your leak by replacing that o-ring.
