I don't know much about SAFC and how it works but I have one and it has been tuned by a professional. I only know that it has a lots of features and I was wondering if there is any way to set it so the car would not start and not to hurt the engine in any way by doing that?

There is definitely no theft system in the s-afc 2, but I know when I had my s-afc1 and my 1g, if I would switch the sensor type from anything but karman the car would die and when started back up, it would just keep stalling...that's the closest you'd probably get with an anti-theft device, from my experience..LOL

The safc2 has 2 seperate "saves" that you can have... which means two seperate tunes that you can switch in between.... possibly you could richen the crap out of one and set the safc2 to that one when you leave your car and that may keep it from starting.... but I do not know if that's a very good idea. I'm sure someone else can offer some insight on this.

lots of features? not really. Doubt it can help as an anti-theft. An alarm would be a much better solution. Install a kill switch somewhere hidden that only you know about.
DSMLink can be a much better "anti-theft" if we are discussing tuning devices to function as one. Set the max rpm to 3000rpm (or whatever the lowest was I forget), throw the air/fuel/timing out of wack so even at the low rpm shift it runs like crap. If it's a 6bolt swap don't disable random misfire checks to make it run even shittier. And I'm sure theres other little nifty things that will make their getaway miserable.

Oh yea, update your profile

You should install a kill switch, just run a switch from the fuel pump with a wire thick enough or use a relay. Then make sure you mount the switch in a good hidden place (not glovebox, shift boot, center console, etc.)

Ok, while on the subject, the fuel pump kill switch is an excellent idea... now, where is a clever place to mount it?

I had an idea of putting it in the door jamb, the actual place close to where the switch is that says if the door is open or not.... and make it a push button on off switch receeded into a drilled out hole as opposed to a toggle switch.... that way it's not really anywhere that someone will be obviously looking and can be discreetly pressed even if you're taking passengers along with you.

Oh and fsck buying a 600 dollar dsm link to fubar your tune so nobody will steal the car (it's overkill), if he already has an safc, don't try to sell him on something he doesn't need.

Putting it in the door jam is a great idea, I would of never thought of that, especially if someones trying to steal your car the door will be closed so they wont even think of looking there. A lot of the theives are pretty smart and know all the places a kill switch would typically be including stock switches (fog light switch)

Another idea is to have it on your seatbelt. You have to buckle in before you can start the car.

Not that a theif would be searching these particular forums, but it's probably best to find your own spot for the kill switch and not go saying all these good spots for a kill switch.
