ok im in the market for somthing i can tune and control my fuel system with. at the moment im on stock injectors but i will be going to 650's or 660's very soon. i wanted to go with a vpc and gcc oringaly because for one a few friends have it and run 10s with that and have no issues. i also wanted to be able to vent my bov i know with the vpc you can do that. I was wondering with the safc neo if you can or not. i was also looking for upsides and downs of both units all info and input would be a big help thanks guys

Well the VPC (vein pressure converter) converts the stock MAF (Mass Air Flow) system to a speed dencity system. This allows you to remove the MAF sensor from the car, and you replace it with a IAT (intake air temp) & a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensors.

The GCC (Graphic Control Computer) allows more precise tuning of the VPC at specific RPM thresholds.

I do not think that the VPC is still vailable from HKS, so you will most likely need to find a used one. When you could buy them new they went for around $900 if I remember correctly. The GCC retailed for between $300 & $400.

The AFC NEO is a pigyback style controler that connects in-line with the factory ECU. It intercepts signals from the sensors and modifies them with respect to the settings you make on the NEO display unit. Then it sends a modified signal to the ECU. With the AFC you will need to retain your stock style MAF.

what about a maft and a neo? would that be a better combo ?

I would do MAFT for inj/bov venting....
If you really want to get into more tuning and eprom ecu is a must.
If you are planing to run 550cc/720cc max inj go with SAFAC...it's cheap

I think the greddy emanage would work better than both and is cheap. Many people dont use it so they dog it. My bro is running 1000cc injectors with no problem and has timing control.

ok ive got a maft on its way im running stock injectors for the moment so theres no rush for a neo or greddy emanage but it looks like thats the route im going to take. can someone give me some info on the greddy emanage cost ups and downs why would it be better then a neo? with a neo can you see how much knock you have?

The neo doesnt show knock and im not sure if the greddy emanage does. From soem stuff ive read the emanage is a little more complicated to tune with than the afcs are. But ive never used a emanage so im not sure. But i went with a neo and i love it. But you donta have timing control but im just gonna let the ecu control all that so i have decent safety margines

thanks for the info im going to need somthing to tell me knock as well... but i cant wait to install the maft and then get the neo hopefully they will run good with one another im hoping to push 400-450 whp im aim for 400 with the evo3 big 16 for now the only things i now need are a front mount 650 injectors and the neo :)

-you can log your car including knock with a cheapo PALM logger running MMCD or something simillar;
-Greddy e-manage doesn't log knock as far as I know.
The cheapest way to go is with a safac, palm logger, AFR and boost gauge...and laptop of course(asuming you got one). EMS/EMANAGE/LINK are way to expensive if you ask me.
Whatever you choose don't forget to always log your car every time you make a change to your setup.
PLus don't forget with an Ostrich emulator you can modify fuel/timming maps on the spot;)
