K i got a SAFC from trader . Car is not running but will be soon hopfully(we all know how that goes) now say since its down and i have time i install the SAFC . I dont know how to set it up or anything since i was going to bring it to buddy to help me. anyway, if i hook it up since it was disconnected from the other guys cars does the settings reset ? I guess im making sure that i am safe if i hook it up and need to drive it to buddies (30 mins)
 
When the car is ready, turn the key to the on position and check all of the correction factors in the settings menu. Depending on the modifications to your car you can set them accordingly. Double check all of your connections before you try and mess around with tuning it.
 
it should still have the other guys settings. that dont mean ya dont have to verify
there right. he may have been running 720's while you have stock injectors
 
When you get the car to run go through the menu and find the option to "initialize" and select that. That will set it back to all the normal defaults. Then you just need to set it to Kharman style MAS and for 4 cyl. and you should be fine. You can also get the instructions from Apex website.

one other thing guys , i was going to install today but the wiring diagram doesnt seem to met up 100% , i have 10 wires , orange blue white yellow pink green gray red black brown. I dont have a manual cause i got from trader. Umm went to V### and looking at the diagram i dont understand it.
What i think i understand is this from the small write up at bottom
label# wire from SAFC harness
1) blue
2) ???????????//
3) pink / orange
4) gray
5) green
6) brown/black
7)red

that 8 used wires , i have 10 ???? I dont think like i said that i fully understand how this is layed out . :confused:
 
K guys this might be like beating a dead horse here but i want to make sure that i am on the right track . I been looking at the wiring diagram for the 2G AWD install for SAFC (first one) and im not sure if i totally understand it. I been searching for 2 days cause i didnt want to post this .

2) What does this mean , solder positive wire from knock lead wire ?

umm as i understand it there really is no way to get knock results from a 2G without DSMLink. do i just ignore this step ?
 
well i have to brag , i got it hooked up. I thought for a second maybe i should get someone else to do this .....then i laughted my ass off :laugh: . So i just jumped into it. Reason i was worried was messing with the ECU but all went well it looks cool and settings are at default thanks boostedinaz . Now i just have to find a good place to mount but also hide at the same time from prying eyes , thanks guys :thumb:
 
being that i cant solder to save my life, i used them vampire clips, their clamped tight and also taped. for the cut wires i used butt connectors. Everything is also taped down for extra support.

Don't worry, those vampire clips will come loose eventually, and then you will be stuck at the side of the road. I hope you can walk/hitchhike better than you can solder, or you're a dead man.

as long as its a sunny day out i never mind a good walk ;)
