SAFC II display isn't turning on

The dial is still lighting up but the display is not. I took off the cover and noticed a burn mark on the display, no idea where that came from. All the connections seem tight though, here's some pictures:

The mark on the display is normal for this type of display. If the display is seated firmly the switching supply to step up the voltage to drive the display or the controller make be shot.

Are either of those replaceable?

Not unless you have a background in electronics.

what did you use taps, if so they are not connecting good i had the same problem.

That's a possibility, that your getting enough voltage to light the knob but not enough to power up the display.

It is tapped into whatever pin on the ecu was recommended by the install guide, the display had been working the past few months and only recently stopped working.

Hopefully this doesn't count as bumping my own thread, I was just wondering if an electronics shop would be able to repair this.

Well the display turned back on again as I was parking earlier, but was off when I started the car again later. I'll double check that the tap into the ignition wire is good.

Tap at the ecu was bad, crisis averted.

Unfortunately this problem keeps coming back. I've tried tapping it at the ecu, cig lighter, and the remote wire on the back of my head unit. Either the display will randomly turn on, or it won't at all and only the dial will light up.

try fixing your grounnd, had the same problem and it ended up being a loose ground tap
