1998 gst lots of mods but...
550cc
I have to have my safc turned all the way up to %30 just for car to idle and not run lean. I know with bigger injectors I should be in the negatives but car won't even run with settings even at zero.
Car also won't rev worth a dang up to around 2500 rpm. After that it seems to run good.any ideas?

please take pictures of the injectors you have in the car, or remove them and take detailed photos.

Do you have a stock or aftermarket fuel pump? Fuel filter? Adjustable fuel pressure regulator? What's the condition and wiring of the mass air flow sensor? Are you recirculating the bov or venting?

If it was a larger pump, fpr wouldn't that cause it to run way rich??

1998 gst
Don't know all specs but what I do know or was told by guy I bought it from a month ago
20g turbo(he said). Has precision hot side and a huge comp side( almost touches the block)
Big thick bulky fmic(with a fogger NX system on it)
Apexi safc1
Autometer boost gauge
Narrow band o2 gauge
(Just got an AEM wideband should have it on this weekend)
Greddy bov
Greddy turbo timer
Greddy boost controller (won't turn on)
Has a homemade MBC on it too(does not change boost no matter where I set it) 10-12 psi is all I can get and it builds slowly in my opinion. Won't hit 10 psi until at least 4500rpm
Have tried setting tps sensor to factory adjustment a couple of times.

Just installed afpr yesterday and set it to 43psi with vacuum line off. Car goes full rich when it goes into boost. It does have a fairly good exhaust leak that I had welded and tried to fix already. Obviously didn't work too well u can see from the black on my valve cover. Bought me a doner cat I'm picking up this weekend 99gst so I'm gonna put the stock exhaust manifold on it

Holy fing shit guys!!!! Christmas came early!!! Guess what I found when I opened up my ecu!!!! I just saved a shitload of money (without switching to gico) hahahaha. That's a big win!!!!

Okay. Is the bov hose connected when this happens or is it off all the time? Can you pull wires out of mass connector easily? Looks kinda shady to me. Are those all the numbers on the injectors?
No ill get the complete number off the injector when I pull them this weekend. And no the maf wiring is very solid.

Can I keep the safc for a monitor? Just set all the values to zero so it isn't making any changes?
It shows me when my maf is reading right what my tp is at and rpms. And will show airflow if I ever do a GM conversion

Sell it and get a laptop or netbook with a USB port. If you have link the safc isn't needed for tuning, as for monitoring I don't see why not. Not needed for the Gm maf. I'm running a 2g mass. I sold my MAFT because I'm not wanting to vent(sneaky sneaky) as a turbo car can be. 2g mass is good for quite a bit of ponies. The evo maf allows you to really lean it out in case you buy 1000cc or bigger injectors for E85 or big power goals on pump gas.

So what all do I need to be able to get into the dsmlink and start making some changes and see what the last guy had setup?
Without the cable it is basically useless. V2 was easily counterfeited so if you don't have the cable ecmlink won't sell you one. (If I'm not mistaken) Although It will still save you some coin because you can upgrade the v2 to v3 for a lot cheaper than buying v3 outright.
I got the same surprise from my GVR4 I picked up not too long ago. Going to send it out for the v3 upgrade when I can spare the car being down for around a week.

Still good news though! but go easy on the car, without knowing the tune and set up it could spell disaster if you are not careful!

You can leave the safc in after you get Link up and going but I wouldn't personally as it only leaves room for more possible electrical issues and it won't do anything useful compared to logging with link.
