Edmonton,
I recently purchased an s16g turbo /w o2 housing... The outside doesn't look so hot, can it just be sand-blasted clean?

What part of the turbo do you want to clean up? I wouldn't see any issues with taking off the turbine housing and sand blasting it. Just make sure to properly cover up the areas that you don't want blasted.

I literally just want to clean up a bit of the exterior which has grease and grime on it (I purchased it used here on dsmtuners). I guess the turbine housing is what I want to clean more than anything.

Try Easy Off to remove the grime, or even Carb Cleaner.

Just don't let the Easy Off sit too long, after you see it foaming for a while, hose it off and check. Brush off most of it then reapply until it's gone. If you don't have any Easy Off at the moment, try some carb cleaner first.

Tooth/wire brushes. Hot water, grim away stuff. My whole engine bay is cleaned like this, never had a single problem and done it this way for about 2 years.
