its too late, i should be gettin the s20g soon. i know everyone has their own opinion about the s20g. most of the people that owned it didnt seem to mind about the "lag" time. all i was asking if i can use my install kit to install the s20g. i still have mix answers on that question. let me ask it again can i use the install kit that i have or what else do i need with my current install kit to install the s20g. so i need the spacer plate and what? please respond to the question. i appreciate everyones opinion and i know u guys are just trying to help.

i bought the s20g for $599. if i have to buy hahns install kit, it would be $299.

Yes, the S20G is radically different from a regular 7cm TD05H 20G. You need HRC's install kit.

But is it not for the simple fact that they claim the 10cm housing eliminates boost creep? And the fact that since they are ALL Mitsubishi, you get a full MHI factory warrenty, instead of having to wait for a long turnaround time and possibly higher rebuild cost on some sort of Frankenhybrid? I don't see anywhere on the site that they are claiming better PERFORMANCE, just simply ease of installation on 2G, no funky J pipe, full warranty, and no boost creep making consistency more likely and engine damage less likely.

You can eliminate boost creep without going to a laggy 10cm housing. What is the point of eliminating one problem if you have created an even larger one? One step forward, and two steps back!

And there is NO EASE OF INSTALLATION BENEFIT over a normal 16G! You only end up trading minimal complexity on the compressor side for HUGE complexity on the exhaust side. The exhaust side under a lot more stress, and is more prone to failure. Hahn's setup more than doubles the failure points on the exhaust side. You also have to remove all the exhaust manifold studs in the head and replace them with Hahn's longer ones (need a replacement? Forget the dealer!). And you have to use a funky circle to rectangular adapter between the manifold and the turbo, which does NOT offer a smooth transition.

I can swap in a 16G on a 2G without even removing the exhaust manifold!

And you want to do all of this just so you avoid a $65 J-pipe? WTF? Tell you what, why not just order up a clocked 16G with a welded-on elbow from Slow Boy Racing?

Also, turbo warranties are non-existant anyway. Do you know who to contact at MHI to get your warranty? And Hahn's monstrosity is not a standard setup from MHI. No 16G comes standard with that exhaust housing. And no 16G comes standard with an elbow welded onto the compressor outlet. An Evo III Big 16G does come straight from MHI completely unmolested, however.

You know what else eliminates boost creep? Just about anything that makes your car make less power. So here are some other comparable methods of avoiding boost creep:

- Using a cat
- Using a restrictive cat-back.
- Running VERY rich
- Retarding your timing.

You will reduce your boost creep, as well as your power…. There is only one good solution for boost creep: run an adequately sized wastegate. Or change your car to run high boost, so if your car creeps to 20psi, and you set your boost to 22psi, you will see no creep :).

As Josh mentioned, turbo warranty is a tricky thing. RRE has an excellent write up about that: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/instructions/turbowarranty.htm Read it and ask yourself again what turbo warranty is worth…

OK, this thread has gone way off topic. If you guys want to continue to defend Supper turbos, run some good times with it and then make a thread about it. People have been waiting for such news for a very long time...

Bubba, your question has been answered numerous times.
