Running rich?? (Honda)

Posting on this fourm again because seem to get more answers here then anywhere else...

I just replaced headgasket,valves,timing belt. When i first started the car it ran like shit i later found the valves were adjusted wrong way so i fixed that and also found i didnt tighten down the IM all the way which caused a vacuum leak..

Now that i get the car to start and run pretty decent i have another problem with the car running too rich. I checked the injectors today all checked out good today with resistance and power and what not. I am very misleaded on what would cause this i know it can be several things such as o2 sensor, ignition timing, and a few other things i cant think off the top of my head. The spark plugs are completley black now when i pull them i have some gasoline on the threads they smell like gas. I spit out black smoke and black liquid at idle when i rev engine it spits out white smoke? But the white smoke reaks like gasoline? If anyone can lead me in the right direction that would be great! im in a rush to get this car back on road..

ALSO when i try to time the ignition by moving the distributor nothing seems to happen at all advanced or retarted it dont seem to effect the performance. I also backfire out the exhaust it sounds like only happens when i push down on the gas quick and hard... I am desperate please shed some light Im so close to get it running better then ever had. I know i now need spark plugs probly wires and maybe some new gas because its been sitting a week or 2 and low but none of that would cause a rich mixture

Your valve or ignition timing is off. Recheck them both.

To adjust ignition timing you would need to turn the distrubtor to advance or retard and then check with light right? Because when i turn it either way it dont seem to do anything
