Running 19psi on stock sidemount....

Hey guys, just as it says i have a couple questions for you....

Alright, just this last week i got my pocket logger working, and it is pretty cold out ( 30 degrees) and i decided that i was going to turn up the boost a little on my 16g...

So i tuned it all the way for 19psi, and it pulls strong... really strong... now here come the questions

at what point will my intercooler start heat soaking, and even with the timing curves and everything looking good right now, how much will the supra sidemount help me out??? will i be able to notice a Noticable difference with the new intercooler...

even at 30 degrees it will still pull well, but for only for a few runs. When it gets into spring and higher temps you might be able to pull one run without heatsoak. You could look into water/alchol injection to help things out. I've had the supra sidemount and it kicked ass when it was colder out at 21psi, but at higher temps it was a little better than the stock sidemount. Now i'm getting a fmic probably from dejontool (street) because i've have a evo 3 16g and i'm not upgrading it anymore because its just a street car.
 
Yes you will notice a difference with a bigger intercooler. If you want to run 19psi everyday even in summer go with a supra sidemount or a nice fmic. I would also recommend the fmic though. Also, if your turning up your boost in winter time, make sure you dump some more fuel into it, if you have a safc because the lower temps could lean you out too much and you could end up blowing the engine.

I just bought my 2g, gs-t and the guy who had it before me has the boost controller at 17 psi is that to much to be constantly running. Its my daily driver dont want to mess it up. :dsm:

Oh i heard that all 4g63 motors tick because of the lifters, is that true? :dsm:

yea dude. i already told you that. there are so many remedies out there. its just something i learned to accept. as dsmers, its our trade mark. yes 17 is too high. i have a datalogger and i can log a run with that boost and show you why its too much. oh yea and like i said, re-wire your fuel pump. it cost me like 15-20 bucks if that...
 
Back when I had a B16g, SMIC, but had DSMlink I was able to pull to gears just fine, but the third would start to knock from heat soak.

It made trying to run the 1/4 tough, and I pretty much just had to dump fuel to keep the combustion chamber quiet.

EDIT: oops, I forgot to add that was at 17psi (1.2bar)
