runing rich, misfire, both?

In the process of trying to break in this engine and once it gets to normal operating tempature, shortly after it sounds like its sputtering, it didn't sound right so I cut everything off. Decided to flush the coolant and there was no oil in it, also the oil was still good.

After alot of researching, it seems like I might have a misfire problem, what would be a good way to see if I do? I just ordered a wideband atleast to see if I'm rich...just the stock fuel pump / rail / injectors & regulator...getting an afpr just to check my fuel pressure soon too. I've also rewired the fuel pump but apparently that doesn't cause you to run rich by itself since its actually a fix.

also getting a dsmlink cable soon so I can see alot more of everything next time I start up..but still wondering what this sputtering noise could be if anyone has any tips

With out a Dsm/Ecmlink (chip) it's not going to do much good then... .

well apparently with the free version of dsmlink you can still log but not adjust. I downloaded it, but I need to get the cable for the laptop.

what are the chances I'm running rich with my setup? how does one adjust the amount of fuel, just dsmlink? I'm still saving up to get one, but just wanted to try the free version first to atleast see where I'm at if I can

There is no free version of Dsm/Ecmlink the software is free to download but it can only be used under any normal circumstances with a DSM/ECMlink chip...

Basically, if you don't already know what this cable is for, then do not order it! It's probably not what you want.

I'm not sure where your getting your info but I'd like to see... . Willing to bet your confusing what ever you read with the 1g version.

If your car was newer I would suggest getting some way to log Via EVOScan software and a 1.3D or cable as they are not the spendy with the software(about $80) But the Mut over ODBII protocol is quite slow for the 95's ...

But, if your not going to be purchasing ECMlink in the near future THIS<click (with the software) would be your best bet as to see what it going on with your car(logging wise)... .
