runing 1g without mass help?

this is my situation i just built my engine and want to start it now i want to tune it to get like 550hp or so i have big turbo and big wastegate but my 1g mass has broken what should i do meanwhile i break it in before the tune with a ems system (havent gotten the aem jet)
should i buy a 1g mass or can i run the car without a mass i have a 2g mass but not shore if its good or not please give me any pointers you can thank you

you will need some way to meter air to account for the fuel it needs to inject, in other words how is the car gonna balance the air/fuel trims with out knowing whats coming in.

you can start it without the maf, but as for driving i would not.

Hey I grew up just north of you in ft myers!

You need a mas of some sort. You can run a 2g maf but need some way to tune for it. I would say the best way to do it is just run a 1g until your broken in then go crazy.

The ECU will throw a check engine light, and it will run in "limp mode" without a MAS. The car will run VERY rich, and have very retarded timing. The car runs very conservative values just to limp you to a garage to get the car fixed, so its not recommended. Someone here in South Florida must have an old 1G MAS kicking around in their garage, or check the junkyards in your area.
