Okay, I just installed my RS60T turbo about 2 weeks ago. First week everything seemed fine, pulled great. This past week I've been noticing blue smoke coming from my exhaust everytime I give it boost. It has been getting worse everyday and today it just smokes non-stop even at idle. I can hear a very loud screeching sound when I give it gas and when I turn the car off I can still hear a loud tinking coming from the turbo. I checked my oil line and the turbo is getting plenty of oil. Did I just get a bad one or what. I did have to clock it a little to make it fit right but I don't think that would cause this. Lucky it has a warranty but I'm just trying to figure out what the problem is before the turbo completly turds out. Any advise! :barf:

Kinked/not large enough return line?

Best bet is probably to call Ben and talk with him.

Well, I checked the return line which I purchased with this turbo from AGP. There is no kink anywhere in either line. I took the intake off and tried turning the wheel. It barely turns at all which I know is not good because it was spinning fine before I put it on. Any other suggestions why my brand new turbo would crap out after 2 weeks. When I turn the car off I can still hear the turbo tinking as it stops spinning. I can also hear the turbo tinking/grinding when the car is running.

that sucks man i got this turbo sittin at the house waiting to get put on soon so keep us posted.' :sosad:

i just installed it on my car too, havent boosted more than maybe 10psi, even tho its already broken in, but i was wondering if you let it cool(turbo timer?) before shuuting her down, did you prime the system before starting the car, with the new turbo on? it could be a number of reasons that no one will know until the turbo has been taken apart, but it sounds to me it overheated and you fried it, maybe oil starvation or not enough cooling time

Yea, I suppose those are possibilities as well. On mine, I poured a little oil through while it was off the car while spinning the shaft, primed it (pull MPI fuse and turn the motor over,) haven't boosted at all yet (new clutch,) and turbo time for quite a while.

I don't want to have any problems.

It's done. I did prime it and spin the blades before I installed it. I also kicked the engine over about 20 times with the fuse pulled before I started it. I turbo time it for a a couple minutes everytime even if I havn't been running it. I just got a bad one plain and simple. I used there oil lines and never had an oil issue on my 20g. I waited longer for this turbo than it lasted on my car. Looks like my car will be down another month before I get a new one. I'm just glad that warranty is there or I would be seriously pissed off right now. :toobad:

i think someone else had that prob too, but it wound up being his fault i think he used some sort of adhesive(maybe teflon?) on the feed line and it plugged the turbo thus starving it
