Just wondering what people with this setup think. Also did you get the long DP or are you running with the cat. They have emission out here in AZ so I have to be careful. Thanks guys. Please also let me know how fitment was as well as gains or boost creep.

If you don't want emissions problem don't get a downpipe that elimates the cat..just get a high-flow cat with the downpipe instead

I run this setup with a cat. Fitment is perfect and sounds good too. Didn't feel much in gains as I was still on the t25 and did the cat-back and dp at seperate times and I've never had an issue with boost creep, even on my internally gated 50 trim.

Any trouble with creep on the T25? I like RRE and they have a good rep. My main concern was fitment as well as sound, also I would like to know if something along the lines of an EVO III O2 housing would be good.

I have an RRE downpipe (cat eliminator) because they make one that mates up perfectly to my evo3 o2. The quality is absolutely wonderful, and packing, customer service, and overall buy was top notch. The guy that welded up my cat-back just couldnt shut up about how nice the downpipe was :thumb:

I have the rre downpipe, and it I don't think the quality is that great. The welds that hold the flange's on are crappy, and they leak. There are actual holes in the welds on mine. Also the welds that hold the flex section cracked afteer about 5k miles. They said it was because of my motor mounts, But I intalled prothane mounts about a week before the downpipe. I also have the vrs 02 eliminator downpipe on my other car and I think the quality is much better than the rre pipe.

I am running the RRE downpipe as wel on the GSX..

its 2.5" before the flex and 3" after.. i have the short version with a 3" high flow cat.. but also have a 3" test pipe to switch wen im feeling brave..

i have no problem with it and the quality is ok I guess.. I have seen better.. I can vouch for what ACKERSON mentioned on most accounts..

no cracks on the welds ont he flex section
but there is a tiny hole on the weld where the flange is.. its not too big of a problem since its very tiny but still.. a problem is a problem..

other than that its ok.. im sure maybe they are built better this time arond (had mine for a good amount of time)

I have the RRE downpipe. Quality isn't necessarily bad, just worse than any other downpipe I've seen. And 2.5" before the flex sucks.

I've been looking at the RRE DP and high-flow cat setup because I have to maintain emissions compliance in NV and want something that'll bolt up to my existing 3" cat-back exhaust. Does your high-flow cat really help with emissions? Do you get after-cat O2 sensor readings low enough to satisfy the ECU and keep the CEL from coming on?

i have the apexi DP quility is great but it's not full 3 inch the whole way i belive is 2.5 to 3 inch but it getts rid of the cat so.... i depends what your looking for i have that with SS O2 housing and a greddy evo exhaust sounds real good low not loud if you want to here a can send you a dyno vid

Guess my next question would then be, who makes a good DP?

Megan Racing. Full stainless, beautiful welds. I started a thread on it a while back, with pics, if you care to look.

It goes from around 2 7/8" to 3", so it's just about the biggest downpipe you're going to get on a stock O2 housing.

It does eliminate the cat., though, but I suppose you could cut that section out and have a cat. welded on, or get flanges welded on, or something.

Anyways, they're usually on eBay for around $130.

I run this setup on my 1G. I think it works great with or without cat. i run a cat most of the time. i had no probems with my down pipe, that was until i put an EVO3 02 housing on. Now i have a bit of a creeping problem. Culver (the owner of GT Fabrications) used to work for RRE and dose there DPs but for a short time others at RRE were making them while GT fab was setting up and the QC went down a bit. IMO best buy for the money. and the 2.5 to 3 in is adiquate for 98% of our setups :barf:

Do they make this DP for a 1G, and didn't see any on eBay. I have come to the copnclusion if your looking for a DP on eBay for a 1G your wasting your time. :thumbdown
I knew about a small hole in my DP flex and have been looking for 2 months and nothing mad eby anyone. For 1G I was prob going to go with Apex'i 3" all the way back. Any other good setups for a 1G that anyone knows. Will not buy from RnR as there are to many nightmare stories. Plus I'd need it in 2 weeks not in 2 months. ;)

hmm that sounds like the time i bought new upper ic piping for my dsm from rre and there looked like a buble in the weld, only to find out it was a hole and leaking boost like a civ. i was such a noob then too so i was pullin out my hair looking for it.

if you ask me they need to learn how to friggin weld, oh and i dont shop there anymore, havent in 2 years and dont plan on ever buying from there again :thumbdown

I agree. I have never had a probelm with their products, quality, shipment or service. I would recommend RRE to anyone. I used to run that setup and I have a friend who currently runs that setup - both cars run/ran great.

that meganracing DP looks nice. what first got my attention about RnR was thier O2 elim. how much of a difference will a DP w/ or w/o an O2 elim make? seems a lot more practical than getting it ported.

for my GST

i have the RRE evo short dp,RRE hi flo cat, Evo o2, N1 cat back

u cannot even tell i have an exhaust in the inside of the car its really quite. I do get boost creep and i have no boost controller on stock turbo
