The wing is holding you back. :p

I'll call John with the orange 3G tomorrow. Brad is doing his usually disappearing act :), I'm sure he will come around before then.

I've been here all along. I've seen this thread but I'm debating whether or not to go. I can't miss the Super Bowl!!

Oh and my car is off the road for the winter so I don't know what good it is to show up in a 92 Nissan Sentra.

eh who cares.. I'll be in my beater eclipse so no biggie. I've also posted this on nj.dsm.org and got another 2 or 3 guys going. Hopefully this will turn into a big thing.

but ladies and gentleman, be prepared to bring your snow suits and insulated jackets to the meet, cause it's freakin cold outside!

Seriously... I just got done doing a valve cover gasket job and I need to be thawed out.

Maybe you guys just have no skillz :sneaky:, what did I say about working on your cars without adult supervission? :p Try heating the gasket up with a blow dryer.

Hey, mine turned out ok (if you look past the fact that I torqued it down too little so when I first started it up oil seeped out on all sides).

We thought about heating it up, although we were just gonna idle it... I will tell him about the dryer idea.

whats the tourque specs on the valve cover bolts ? I have to do mine tomorrow. If you dont know off hand Ill find out its cool

Hand tighten with a 10mm deep socket.. then turn another 1/4. it's ONLY 2-3 lb/ft of torque (which is barely any torque at all). DO NOT overtighten the bolts, they will seal if your gasket is good. Don't forget to replace or re-RTV your half moon gasket too.

BFH's are your friend, just jam a flathead in there and pry up :p

come on soldier! it should be fine, really. Make sure the flathead is thin and strong, and start prying at the corners slowly. Also make sure you pry in between the valve cover and the gasket, don't jam it right into the gasket (of course unless you are changing that too)
