i have heard of someone here in co who was gonna put a scoop over their sunroof.. but dont know if it ever happened .. would be functional tho.. ..but i agree.. converts are better=) i love my miata for that reason..

you can put a roof scoop over a car with a sunroof/moonroof (difference?)

it's like 1/3 of the lenght of a regular roof scoop

i dont know.. like i said before tho.. there was someone here in CO who was gonna do it..but dont know if they ever accomplished it.. but i dont see y it wouldnt work if it was on there strong enough =) theres a first for everything

i thought you ment a small little scoop infront of the moon/sunroof.

how would it be 'functional?' will it like divert the outside air into the car like a little air conditioner? actually serve a performance purpose?

it wouldnt be function in a performance way.. and being as tho this isnt a performance forum what i was saying is fine. besides i'm not doing it.. i just knew someone was gonna try it as an way to move more air into the car for comfert or whatever..what does it matter what other people do anyway as long as it doesnt effect u...

We are a community, and as a community we can and often do set acceptable norms, such as a common distaste for two pedals and APC stickers. I think the DSMtuners community has agreed to keep the mods performance oriented, and this serves to further the strength or our sub-culture and to differentiate between those that enjoy driving and those that want to look good. Without these norms, this could not be a DSM only forum and could easily turn into a gab fest.

you are right.. but people are saying the scoop should produce some type of performance . ..but this particular sub-forum is Non-Performance (interior/Exterior).. so its ok to post things that arnt related to performance aspects. I'm sure everyone here wants either strickly show.. or the opposit of just speed.. and there is also some who want a lil of both. And your right, thats what makes the community here at dsm great for dsmers.. because it allows the dsm community to explore diff. aspects of our cars (NA & T), but i think people shouldnt make bad comments about things just cause they dont perform anything more then a looks aspect.

So, if a roof scoop serves no purpose, and does not increase the ergonomic aspect of yer ride, is it worth attaching in the first place? True, there are those that want looks, this sight is intended for the driving enthusiast. Non-performance mods include items such as seats, sound-deadening removal, making lighter/stronger interior mods. Adding more weight to a vehicle in the name of vanity only discredits our community.
