2G Rod that connects to the door lock is broken.

Well, I bought the car with a broken drivers side lock (physically out of the car) so I bought a set of manual locks for the trunk, doors, glove box and ignition with a key pulled from another car. Well, when I went to install the lock in the drivers side, I pulled the door panel off and noticed the rod that connects to the lock was broken. Where in the crap do I get that piece and how in the hell do I fix that? My big hands really don't fit in there too well. =\ Thanks fellas!

That lock is notorious for breaking as is one of the bolts that holds up the lock and window module in place. Best bet is to get it off a parts car or one sitting in a junkyard, 95-99 is all the same. As for replacing it, if you have the door panels completely off and the handle taken out on the outside, with some elbow grease and patience you can slide it in and out there. You can take the window out too and slide it in and out there, but it is just making things harder on yourself.

Yeah, I hear ya, I had the handle out no problem, the bottom of the window does get in the way a but but the part that broke looks to be attached to the white part that has torx bolts on it that is actually the mechanism that hooks to the body of the car that latches. The door lock arm attaches into that somehow and it's broken off at that point, not at the lock. =\

TTT - I really have got to find this part. Would rather not take a 45 minute drive to the nearest mitsu dealer. =\ Thanks guys.
