One day I was driving home from work and my oil hose to my oil pump came off. All the oil drained out of the engine. So basically the motor shut down due to lack of oil. I took off the head and luckily only the cams scraped on the bearings,so a cam bolt came off, thus making the engine shut off, so the cam gear came off. I got the head rebuilt (new cams, rockers, etc.) I started it up and it ran fine. (The only thing I had to do was tune the AFC.) Now is it possible for a rod bearing to be sprung (rod knock) without hearing it? Now I lifted the car up on stands and I heard a hissing noise coming from the oil pan. Is it possible that it's the beginning of a rod knock? Any help is appreciated.
bearings. but nonthless i guess its probally better if i change the bearings. how much would that run me? they can be replaced by just removing the oil pan right? it would really suck if i had to pull the motor out.
