I use the heat reflective tape from DEI. I have my intercooler to throttle body pipes wrapped as well as my water pipe (the one that runs behind the turbo). I also have the heat reflective sheaths wrapping my radiator hoses (upper and lower). I would like to try some gold foil on the front of my head and also on the back of the radiator and on the radiator side of my intercooler (top and rad. side of the end tanks) to kill some of the radiant heat from the radiator itself. It's kind of expensive ($25 for a 2'x1' section) but if it's good enough for race teams it's good enough my dsm!

I was pricing out some of the heat reflective materials and came across this stuff:
Thermo Tec Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier
If you look at the pricing for the 12"x24" you can compare it against the gold foil. It really isn't that much less expensive than the gold foil as seen here - 12"x24":
HRP Gold Heat Reflective Racing Film

Though I would share that. Oh, and everyone here should definitely put hrp world in your favorites...it's my most visited sight other than this one.

I remember someone posting about sealing up the back of the radiator. Maybe something like this punishment racing set up would work well Mishimoto Radiator Fan Shroud Kit. It'll help create more pressure by closing off the back of the radiator and at the same time block all that radiant heat from the manifold and turbo except to the area behind the fans. Just something I came across that may help a bit if you are still having any issues.

I'm not sure if this would work very well, but what if you were to get one of the co2 sprayer kits and put it directly on the radiator? If your temps start to get high, you could spray the radiator till the temps drop. I would think that the temp would drop fairly quickly since the co2 is so cold.

Hey, did you do any runs before you put the thermotec heat barrier on the backside of the heat shield? I was considering heat wrapping my manifold until I saw your creative solution. Looks like I get to start ordering parts for when I get back to Texas!

BTW, asian312's car looks MUCH more intimidating in person.

Asian312....they wouldn't happen to mass produce your carbon fiber hood do they? If so, can you point me in the right direction to get one? I've spent countless amounts of time searching for it. To be honest...I've only seen that style on two eclipses....yours and gixxerdrew's.

Car looks outstanding btw :thumb:

Im just curious while on the topic of FMIC, what kind of FMIC are most of you using for road coursing? I myself am using the SSAC but am contemplating if im going to switch or not. I mean the core isnt all that bad from what i can see but just wanna know what others think. Im going to stick with the Bar and Plates design FMIC though and not Tube and Fin

It's on eBay. Search for Scoote 2 hood. They make a CF and fiberglass version.

what material did you make that splitter out of?

The splitter in it's current form is made of 1/4 plastic. I have some bracing to add to increase rigidity and will be lining the bottem with 1/8 aluminum to keep the track from sanding the splitter off.

Here you go man. He mentioned it in post 36.
