Hey when i'm driving my car is making a loud hum it gets worse as i speed up. also when i turn my wheel to the left it stops making the noise. I am trying to figure out if this is the bearing or the ball joint? I recently had to have both changed on the other side of the car. So I don't know how to tell if it is just one or both.

Sounds like a bum wheel bearing to me. Ball joints won't humm and get louder when you go faster. Ball joints usually make your car shakey, and when you hit a bump you can feel the steering wheel pull.

A humming is usually a wheel bearing. I would jack up the car, spin the wheel and listen for any growling and or grab the wheel and press on the top and bottom of the wheel to try and see if it moves much. If it does move, have someone else look under the car to try and see what part is moving. (have the car secure with jackstands ofcourse before crawling underneith.) And if I remember correctly from a past experience, my friends 2G did the same thing... I think the noise went away when he turn left and it was the passenger side wheel bearing making the noise. Eitherway, im pretty positive its one of your wheel bearings.
