Alright, since I can never freakin get ahold of them I'll ask you guys who have the RNR turbo back. Mine arrived today and it looks nice except there are no freakin flanges on the exhaust sections. It looks as though the sections are supposed to slide together but they don't seem to want to do that. What am I supposed to do with this? Such a pain in the ass. Thanks guys.

The ends are slip fit so they slide together. In my opinion it's easier to install/remove because there's no bolts/gaskets to deal with.

I don't understand why yours isn't fitting together. Try flipping around the middle section.

RNR says that when the exhaust heats the pipes, the metal expands to form a tight fit. I don't know about that, so I bought some 3" band clamps to make sure it doesn't leak.

I have it, my slip fits where a itch to install, with some forcing and little wiggles they will fit. Post, when you have it installed and let us know what you think about the exhaust and performance.:thumb:

Can you give a better link to that band clamp? Right now Im using a 3" U-bolt exhaust clamp and it's undone itself once in front of the movies and the exhaust separated which was really embarrassing.

You can get band clamps at NAPA auto stores:shhh:

even kmart carries them.

Just Bang them togther with a hammer, they will go togther.

I didn't put any clamps on mine because if the exhaust leak is after the turbo who really cares???

Word, I got mine there for the exact exhaust.. Ryan said evetually they won't rattle from the expansion and contraction, but I wanted more support so I went with the band clamps. Great idea, if you aren't going to get the NAPA ones, at least make sure they are SS so they won't rot..

I got them from Napa auto parts (like the other people). Just ask for some 3" exhaust band clamps. They're kinda pricey at around $8, but worth it I think. Those U-bolt clamps just don't seal.

RNR's slip fits are very tight. Make sure the pipe ends aren't a little out of round. Since Ryan using no packing materials for shipping, the pipes bang around in the UPS truck a lot. I had to take file and hammer to mine to get the pipes to slip fit. I don't have this exhaust anymore. I have a Borla now. They also use slip fitting. Borla pipes slide right together easily and requires clamping. They cut a slot in the bigger pipe end to allow the pipes to clamp together tighter. You could cut a 2 or 3mm groove along the bigger pipe to allow it to expand easier around the inner pipe. Of course you'll need clamps if you do this. If you can get the RNR pipes to slip fit w/o cutting then the tight fit should be leak free w/o clamps - mine was.

i got my 3ich from rnr and i didnt have any problems gettin mine together. all 3 peices slid together and i put the whole thing together underneath the car one piece at a time. it sounds really good too. i was impressed with the exhaust and it was a great preformance mod. only *itch now.......major BOOST CREEP!!!!!!!! just gotta get that under control and everything will b perfect!

I had the same problem with the 3" turboback. I ported the O2 housing, ported the wastegate passage, 34mm flapper mod, etc.. nothing helped until I welded a cat onto the exhaust.

No creep problems with the o2 elim downpipe... although the flex join is right up against the front sway.

There are also other fitment issues... the band clamps don't really tighten enough so if you hit a bump hard enough, the pipes can slip out of place just enough to be out of whack... since there isn't much clearance to begin with, the exhaust will rattle against say... the cat heat shield which is very annoying.

Those who have it already, next time you get the car on a lift... spend sometime under the car and check everything over. You may have the same problems... I didn't think I did until it started rattling which made me take a closer look.
