hey i ripped my fuel line trying to replace my fuel filter the nut was to sized in , well i ripped it and i was wondering if theirs a temporary fix i can do ? i need the car monday and all i have is 20 bucks to fix?

i was thinking what if i cut fd up part of the tubeing and replaced it with a nylon line and a clamp and find some type of fitting for the filter ?

do you guys know any quick cheap solutions??

its a 1991 eagle talon

Do you know of a way to just rig it tho? so it just works cause i don't want to waist lot of money or time i just want the car to be running.

i only broke like half an inch of the line , what if i get a compression fitting for the filter, and flare the other end of the fuel line , get a rubber hose, clamp it on the end.

would that work temporarly?

I mean Tuesday LOL i totally forgot tomorrow was mlk day.

do you have any advice on how id be able to fix my fuel line temporarly?

Sorry but I'd never suggest anyone to "rig" the pressured fuel line. Your going to end up wasting more money and time trying to "rig" this line together so it might work. But if not then you risk spraying fuel all over your engine bay, and possibly burning your car to the ground.

I don't think saving $40 on a fuel line is worth risking my entire car.

Depending on how bad your fuel line is in. this may or may not work.

For only a temp fix and not to be used as a permanent solution

Simply Buy a double hose barb fitting. for 2-4 dollars.
with hose clamps.

Cut the hose completely and install the fitting. tighten hose with clamps.

I would recommend replacing this with something more secure Like Fuel lines offered by EXTREMEPSI.COM

my fuel line isent that bad only like half an inch was cut off , and the rest of the line is pretty clean there's not really any rot on it so i think this will work, thanks man im going to search.

how would the barb hose fitting fit on the fuel line tho?

Jb weld on a fuel line? No....if you cant reflare you can cut a piece of line from a salvage car and join the two pieces with a steel NOT BRASS compression fitting. Alternately you could use a tube nut to create an AN fitting and plumb from there.

Would this work? i still have part of my fuel line on the filter what if i get the nut and the filter off, cut the line, flare it, cut the other part of the line, flare it also , then buy a rubber fuel hose ,and clamp it on each side would that work?

and put like a sort of sealant on the ends of the hoses so no leaks develop?

yeah your right , im thinking yeah to use the compression fittings. what size should i get ?

how would a nylon line do agenist the pressure?

a nylon line and compression fittings?

I thought your problem was the rubber hose between the fuel rail and the filter.
So your problem is the hard line just before the filter?

The 3rd 1g i bought someone had done the same thing. i guess he was meaning to cut the clutch hard line and messed up cutting the fuel line.

What he did was put a rubber fuel hose over and hose clamped it on.

I started the car and it didn't leak. But i replaced the entire lines back to the tank.

A nylon line should be fine if its rated for fuel.
I know some stainless lines have nylon inside.

Jegs offers compression an fittings that are awesome. No Flare required. plus its hard to get a professional flare tool in there anyway.

they may be round $10.00 a piece or so.

Let us know what you do.

with a SS line do you have to replace the whole line?

im new to dsm

Not exactly. Just find a good place to put the compression fitting and pipe in the stainless line!

Something similar to this... Check sizes and get right one.
