I have a 95 eclipse gsx and every time I was to signal right and put my right blinker on, its blinking very fast. When I put my left turn signal on, it signals normally. I checked fuses and they are fine. Can anyone help in telling me what the problem might be and can it easily be fixed?

HAHAH

Is this your first car? How long have you had your license? Have you checked to see if when you hit ur right signal if it actually works? All the cars i've owned or driven when the light goes out, the dash indicator flickers much faster than normal to inform you that it is out. If not, im sorry for making fun. I got a good chuckle.

LOL, that's exactly the same thing that happens to me. I'm not sure why it does it, but the fast blinking doesn't bother me. I have altezza's on my car, and i was curious what the taillights were doing when i used the right blinker. When the right blinker is on... the lights alternate turns on my right taillight, looks pretty cool, i wish the other side did it too. First, the inside light would blink, then the light in the middle would blink right after the inside light, instead of them both blinking at the same time. Oh and the headlight just blinks as fast as the dash is portraying. I'm sorry i can't help the problem, i was just showing that you're not the only one with same problem. Oh and disregard what gigahz said...the lights do work, it's just weird that the right side blinks fast when the left side blinks normal. It might be the 95's...i dunno, LOL.

its a feature on all cars to let you know that one of your turn signals is burnt out. and since it does it when you turn right, im gonna go out on a limb and say its on the passenger side of the car.

the reason it does this is because the electrical circuit is broken because the bulb is not working and the extra power from not lighting up the bulb makes everything else go faster.

Well.... it's kind of a feature. It's more a result of the throwback engineering of the turn signal relay which relies on electrical load to cause it to make-and-break by heating up a bimetal klixon. When you change the load, the flashing rate changes- less load = faster clicking. Changing to unloaded LEDs can make them flash really quickly.

Once a week, cruise through the strip mall and check all your car's lights in the reflection in the storefront windows. Getting stopped for a burned-out license plate light is a pain in the ass- because they never stop at that light.

Exactly.
Crank the car and turn your right turn signal on.
Then get out of the car and walk around it...
Find the one that is out and pull it then bring it with you to a store and find the replacement for it.
Then go home... put the new bulb in the old bulbs location.
Repeat step two.
Make sure problems fixed.

i have had the same problem, as well as most of my friends that had 95 Eclipses too, LOL. First things first, check to see if both the front and back blinkers work. If they do, check to see if your parking lights work for the same side. If they do, step three or four will solve your problem. Check to see if your brake lights work. The reason I say this is the bulbs in bothe your front turn signal and back brake lights have two seperate filaments, those small coils inside the bulb. If one of them breaks, then even if it is not being used, will set off the "alarm" (when your flashers go crazy fast :D . This just helps you know that there is a bulb out, and you better replace it before the cops pull you over for a burnt out bulb and mess with you :thumbdown .
Now if you have checked all the bulbs and both of their filaments, then there is just one option left. Something in the wirin is messed up. My friend had a 95 eclipse, and one of the wires on a plug for the bulbs on the back taillight was falling out. Just like Denji, I had to solder it and then the lights and blinkers worked. :thumb:
Redpest850, you might want to check your aftermarket Altezza's wiring job. Whoever made them in Japan or whereever might have done something wierd to make it that way, they might have wired it up wrong inside the case itself. I have never heard of a taillight doing that, because the bulbs only fit it one way into the sockets. If you like how the right side is doing that, which sounds pretty cool to me too, put the taillights side by side, and check to see if there is a wire crossed or in a different place. I think it would be cool to see our taillights "wave blink" where they blink from the inside out. :thumb:

Hope this helps, just putting my 2 cents in too. ;)
