Right size exhaust for '98 NON-Turbo??

What would be the right size High Performance exhaust for an Eclipse ’98 NON-Turbo? I am hoping for 350-400 HP with NOS in the future and not sure if 2.5” is enough.

It was recently rebuilt with racing Cams (10.5:1), and .20 over with Weisco Pistons and H-Beam rods. Please advise.

I would go with 2.5" unless you plan on going turbo. To big of an exhaust on a NT may kill your low end power. 3" would help top end out but you dont want low end to be super slow either.

How do you plan on breaking 350-400hp? Someone has just broken the 200whp mark all motor so you planning on running almost a 200 shot?

geez man 350 400 with a 420a motor thats alot what mods do u have planned or already have as far as exhaust i would go with a 2.5" thats what i had on my 2g before i sold it and it was na and it worked great

2.5 all the way...just curious ...why not spend the money on a turbo so u alwayz have the power u want instead of having to refill ...just a thought

We rebuilt the bottom end for strength as I mentioned in my first note; now we're going to start adding. My next step is an ECU from Megasquirt hoping to add around 40 HP. Already have an air intake, headers, and racing cams. Then the exhaust. Is it realistic to hope for 20 HP with a good exhaust?

We all realize our cars are projects; that's why we post on forums, right?

Then comes the NOS. And we all know with NOS you either hit your goal...or back to the garage!

Good question, "Why not Turbo"? Long story, but for kicks we decided to goof around with the 420A and see what happens...that's why not.
