The only mods I have are injen intake, air filter and a HKS SSQV bov. Its hitting fuel cut cause of restriction so I was wanting to know if just re-wiring my stock fuel pump will take care of this setup for a while. I do plan to buy a walbro 190 in the future and use the same rewire kit for it. Does that make any sense or should I just do both the rewire and new fuel pump at the same time? The reason im asking is because im not going to do any more mods for a while so I figure I will wait till later to do the fuel pump upgrade and just get the rewire now if thats all i really need for just these few mods. Any info will be great. Thx

With the mods you have, you shouldn't be anywhre near fuel cut.
I think you have other issues going on.
Your hks BOV isn't vented is it? It is routed back into the intake, correct?

Yes the bov is vented but i know that isnt the problem cause I had a greddy type s not vented and i still would hit fuel cut. With the stock intake on the car runs just fine but with the aftermarket one, it sucks in way to much air.

I had basically the same setup as you and had no feul cut. I think you may have another underlying problem. While vented a bov MAY cause a problem it is not really common for it to cause fuel cut. If vented issues arise they usually affect you when the throttle is being released(like between shifts or decelerating). Check your O2 sensor and make sure it's not going bad. If it is then it could be dumping extra fuel that you don't need.

fuel cut ? you have limited mods done to your car. I cant really see how you are hitting fuel cut. You dont have a MBC so you still have to be running stock boost correct ? i think you might want to look into some other problems.

when do you hit fuel cut,
venting will create a rich situation. mabye you should recirc

i vented and ran rich and hit fuel cut and junk, recirced and its perfect.

2Gs seem to have slightly different reactions to venting than 1Gs do. 1Gs seem to have problems more often than not. Not to mention that the HKS should not cause a rich condition unless you are between shifts or decelerating. It is a pull type and not a pressure realease. This sounds like something non venting related. Besides I would investigate other avenues before spending the 15 bucks for the recirculation fitting for the SSQV.

Ok it might not be fuel cut but let me tell you all exactly whats going on. When im on the highway or just driving at a high speed, and I go WOT, my car gets to about 4k rpms and hits a wall then picks back up and keeps going. It only does it at night when its cool outside. It drives just fine during the heat of the day. The sparks and plugs are new but I might replace them again anyway if getting a new fuel pump doesnt work. But you guys are right, I shouldnt be hitting fuel cut with just these few mods. When you add mods, doesnt that change your boost. I know it does on an SRT-4 cause that what i started with. Once again I know its not the bov. I ran a greddy type s not vented for 3 months and got the same results.

Yea, I did that the very first time i noticed the problem. And no i didnt hack the MAF. Its a 2g. I believe that only need to be done on the 1g mafs. I pretty sure the car is hitting fuel cut. I forgot to mention that it has a ported 14b turbo but even so that not enough for me to be hitting fuel cut this soon. I will rewire my stock fuel pump to see if that cures the problem. If not then I will get a walbro, new sparks and plugs and see if that does it. And if not then its off to find a deeper problem. What ever fixes it, I will post up. Thx for all the info! :talon:

Do you have a volt meter?
If so, save yourself some time before the rewire.
Just measure the voltage at the pump.
If it's fine, then you can try the 190

What about boost leaks?
Have you pressurized the system and looked for them?
Maybe you have some huge boost leaks. The maf is seeing all this air and adding a lot of fuel taxing your current fuel system. This would mean you're running extremely rich also.
Just a thought

You may be hitting fuel cut but with those mods, you shouldn't be. If you are, something else in the system is causing it.

edit::: You never have told us how much boost you're running. Knowing that will help, especially now that we know you have another turbo

I think you have a boost leak somewere. Thats is the only reason for fuelcut at your level of mods, unless you are running alot of boost with the 14b. Lets us know the ENTIRE mod list for your car and we will be able to help you out more.

The only mods I have are the intake, air filter, hks ssqv, and 14b turbo ported. How would I go about checking to see if I have a boost leak? I think I remember seeing a page on that shows how to test it. I will search for it and try it and see. Thx! :talon:

Do you even have a boost guage
You've never mentioned it and.....

it seems that you just don't want to tell us how much boost you're running even though you've been asked several times

good luck

At this point, I really dont think how much boost im running is really gonna make a difference seeing as I dont have a boost controller (so that means around the stock boost level  ) and not enough mods to be hitting fuel cut so soon. Im running .83 hkpa. Close to 12 psi.

If you want help then you need to give us some info on you setup. You will also need to get some tools to monitor what is going on with you car, boost gauge, logger, things of that nature. With out those you can only guess what is really going on with you car. You dont want answer then keep on not giving us info.

i think your just confusing yourself. Like mike said if we had ALL the info on the car we then MIGHT be able to help you out.

If you know so much, then fix it yourself. Myself and others have given you plenty of advice.

We(meaning more than me) have asked you several times how much you were running.
If you didn't know, you should have said so instead of ignoring the question.
One of your first mods should have been a boost guage and everyone would have told you that.

Does it matter how much your guage(which you don't have) says.....YES.

Does it matter that you don't have a boost controller(after market).....NO

Just because you have limited mods and no boost controller, does this mean that you're running around the stock boost level.....NO
In the beginning when I started, very limited mods(no boost controller) raised my PSI by aprox 2-3. Can 1-3 psi matter.......YES

Could your 14b, be spiking or have boost creep and rising to a high level(way above stock).....Yes Do you know if it's happening......NO because you can't monitor your boost level since you don't have a boost guage.

Don't roll your eyes and "ASSUME" anything because it makes an "A$$" out of you and well "ME" I'm out of here since you know it all.
